WCS offers a English Language Learning (ELL) program for the children of recent immigrants to Canada.
We recognize that these students feel the extra stress of not understanding their peers and teachers so we do all that we can to alleviate their added burden. Students receive intensive English Language instruction for 40 minutes each school day but for the rest get the benefit of experience in the mainstream classroom.
ADMISSION OF ELL STUDENTS
All ELL families must provide the school with the following:
- Birth Certificate (proof of age)
- Passport
- Valid Student Visa (if required)
- Valid proof of health insurance
COST
The cost of the ELL program is included in the International Student Tuition rate (see International Student Registration). Tuition must be paid before the first day of attendance.
CLASS AND SCHOOL NUMBERS FOR ELL STUDENTS
The number of ELL students per class in all grades (K-8) will be determined by the members of the school administration. This number may represent any percentage of that class. The total population is not to exceed 25% of the total enrollment at WCS.
