“Looking back on my 8 years at WCS, I’ve learned how important it is to be surrounded by people who make me happy. When I entered grade 3, Mrs. Miles made the whole year fun. But one moment I remember clearly, even now, is our class field trip to Reptilia. The morning of the trip, Mrs. Miles walked into the classroom and her shirt was a beautiful combination of greens and blues, but it was pattern that stood out. It was a colourful snakeskin pattern. I thought it was so funny that she wore that shirt on the day of Reptilia. But, in my still developing brain, I was scared the snakes would attack her! I’m grateful for Mrs. Miles who gave me memories, love and encouragement. She’s helped shape who I am.”
